Computer Hardware || Components of Computer System:
Computer
system is composed of two major components. They are Hardware and Software. A
computer cannot perform any task in absence of any of this component. It means
Hardware alone cannot perform any task without software. Likewise Software
cannot do any task without Hardware. There should be co-operation between
hardware and software to perform any task by a computer.
So,
Computer Hardware and Computer Software both need to work together in order to
produce useful output. From above it is clear that without any of these
components computer system is useless.
Hardware
are the physical parts of a computer which make up the computer system whereas
software are the logical parts that direct the hardware what to do and how to
do.
You
can compare Computer Hardware with your physical body parts and Software to the
knowledge in your mind. Your body parts can be seen and touch but your
knowledge in your mind cannot be seen and touched.
Computer Hardware:
The
physical components of a computer that you can touch and see are known as
computer hardware. Computer Hardware are those parts of computer, which can be
seen and touched or felt physically.
All
physical components of a computer such as Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, System
Unit, CPU, Printer, Scanner, webcam, CD/DVD-ROM, etc. are some examples of
Computer Hardware.
There
are many hardware components inside system unit so they are not seen outside.
They are motherboard, CPU, hard disk, RAM, ROM, etc. We can see only those
hardware components of a computer which are outside the system unit such as
keyboard, mouse, monitor, speaker, etc.
Definition of Computer Hardware:
Ø The physical parts of a computer system that you can
touch, feel and see.
