Agriculture includes cultivation of land, growing and harvesting crops, breeding and raising livestock, dairy, forestry and so on. There are different kinds of professionals in agriculture field like in other fields. The professions are found to be very simple workers to the most efficient specialists including experienced professionals and doctors of the same field. They are supposed to have got good knowledge in veterinary and botany as well as zoology.
Since modern agriculture depends on engineering and technology the biological and physical sciences, hundreds of experts and highly qualified manpower is essential for its scientific management and high production.
Agricultural engineers, agricultural chemists, genetics engineers, food processors are some some of the important modern, highly qualified and trained professional sectors of agriculture.

An agricultural is a person who is competent in any sector of agriculture.

i) To provide technical support in the production of quality seeds to increase the production.
ii) To prevent and treat the diseases of crops.
iii) To develop and use on new technology to increase the production.
Qualification Required:
- Students who have passed SEE can join Diploma in Agriculture run by CTEVT.
- One who have successfully completed Diploma course or pass +2 taking up the major subject science can join Bachelor level in Agriculture.
Importance of Agriculture:
- Agriculture is the main source of food.
- Agriculture is not only the source of food but a dominant source of raw material. Jute, sugarcane, tobacco, etc are produced from agriculture.
- Agriculture is the primary source of employment.
- Most of Agro-product can be exported to earn foreign currency.
