Q) Ram marked the price of a watch at Rs.800. He sold it allowing a discount of 10% and make a profit of Rs.80, find the cost price of the watch

Here,

                Marked Price (MP) = Rs.800

                Discount = 10%

                Profit = Rs. 80

                Cost Price of a watch (C.P) = ?

Now,

SP = MP – D% of MP

     = 800 - (10/100)*800

     = 800 – 80

      = 720

Again

                C.P = SP – Profit

                      = 720 – 80

                      = Rs. 640

Therefore, the cost price of a watch is Rs.640.
