Lesson 1: International Employment:

1) What is foreign employment?

Ans:Going from one country to another country for job and working in multinational company within the country itself to earn money is called foreign employment. People of Nepal go to different countries of the world for jobs and earning.

2) What are the importance of foreign employment?
Ans:
The importance of foreign employment are:

a) Country can get lots of foreign currency as the remittance which can be used to establish industries in the country. Such industries provide job opportunities in the country.

b) People who go overseas to work can learn different skills and technologies which can be beneficial for the development of our own country.

c) Foreign employment reduces the unemployment problem of a country.

d) It may help to develop international relations with other countries because the country has to do labor contract with other countries and embassies has to be established there.

3) Why people are attracted to foreign employment?

Ans:

Due to lack of sufficient job opportunity in internal labour market, about 800,000 youths have gone overseas till Asar 2064. People earning money in foreign land can get job easily and improve their skill.Besides, family of the people having foreign employment can afford good quality of life. So, people are attracted to foreign employment.

4) Write the importance of foreign employment in Nepal.

Ans: The importance of foreign employment in Nepal can be stated as below:

• It has reduced the problems of unemployment.
• It has earned remittance.
• It has increased the national income and thus investment.
• It has decreased poverty.
• It has developed skill and technology in Nepal.
• It has helped for the development of our country.

Lesson: 2   High Level of General Education in Nepal

1) Introduce Medium Level and High Level General Education. Also mention any two necessary points needed for General Education System in Nepal.

Ans:

In Nepal, Education up to class 10 is general and compulsory to all. The first five years of education is primary level and the education imparted form 6th to 8th is called the basic education which stresses personality development and trains the students for higher learning. The two final years comprising class nine and ten are called high school level education which serve as the stepping stone for the higher secondary level. The classes 11 and 12 are both regarded as higher secondary education. The education up to Higher Secondary Level is considered as the medium level of education. Education, Humanities, and commerce are the main courses for higher secondary.

The education system after higher secondary is known as high level education system. Colleges and Universities impart education of high level in various subject areas. They prepare technical and highly skilled manpower on various sectors like medicine, engineering, IT, agriculture, communication energy, electronics, etc.

General Education system in Nepal is needed for the following reasons;
I. To make children read, write and do arithmetic.
II. To stresses personality development and trains the students for higher learning.
III. To prepare technical and highly skilled manpower on various sectors.

2) List some of the universities of Nepal and write short notes.

Tribhuvan Universitiey (TU)

This university is the first university of Nepal. It was established in 2016 B.S. It has many affiliated institutions and faculties. There are four faculties. They are;
a) Faculty of Humanities and social sciences
b) Faculty of Management
c) Faculty of Education
d) Faculty of law

It also runs bachelor to doctor in philosophy in different general education in different subjects.

Some of the general subjects are mathematics, science, political science, geography, economy, population and finance.

Nepal Sanskrit University

This university was established in 2043 B.S. The course is designed based on Beda. Karmakanda, Astrology, Yoga philosophy, Architectural science, philosophy, Vedic philosophy, Religion, Literature and so on are the subject taught in this university. Its central office is located in Beljhundi, Dang.

Kathmandu University

It was established in 2048 B.S. Some subjects and faculties taught in this university are Medicinal science, Engineering, Nursing, Management, Arts, Modern Technology, Education and so on. Its central office is located in Dhulikhel, Kavre.

Purbanchal University

It was established in 2051 B.S. It has the aim of providing general, vocational and technological education. Generally, the subjects and faculties taught in this university are science, humanities, management, education, law and fine arts. Its central office is in Morang District.

Pokhara University

Pokhara university was established in 2054 B.S. Management, Humanities, Science and Technology are some of the faculties and subjects taught in this university. Its central office is in Pokhara.
